The studies are inconclusive.

 But even if they were, whose to say genetics can't be over ridden? There are people with a genetic bent to take more risk than others. There are people with a genetic bent to be more conservative. It’s foolish to assume that just because we are born with a tendency of any sort that we have to live a certain way. What's next? Because we're born to get tired we should sleep all day. Or, because we're born to have sex, we should just have it with any and everybody? Our bodies and their genetics are meant to be our servant not our master.

So while some say they were born gay, remember, there are others who have admitted that they only said it to protect their lifestyle and choice. But in either case, the studies are very much inconclusive. You can see these studies by researching it online for free.

As far as we know it, its a matter of free will. Even if you could  be born that way.
